Heart to Heart Cardiac Rehabilitation

Have you experienced a heart attack or heart event? Heart to Heart is a medically monitored exercise and education program delivered by Cardiac Nurses and Exercise Physiologists. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Silver Steps

Are you looking for more supervision with your exercise? This program is our supervised exercise program for all ages. Participants monitor heart rate, blood pressure and exertion levels, and are provided with a daily workout plan utilizing strength training, cardiovascular exercise on various equipment, and stretching.  Classes are one hour every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 7:15 am, 8:30 am and 9:30 am with and additional hour of education topics, every Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30.

Get Fit

This is a medically-supervised exercise program for anyone that would like to get fit, reduce risk factors for heart disease or lose weight. You will be given an exercise prescription for the day, work at your own pace on cardio equipment, get advice on intensity and technique.  This program offers accountability, motivation and guidance on your exercise program.  Classes are one hour every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 7:15 am, 8:30 am and 9:30 am with and additional hour of education topics, every Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30.

Group Exercise Classes

Add variety to your exercise routine with one of our targeted, state-of-the-art group exercise classes for individuals of all fitness levels. All classes have a specific focus to optimize your health and fitness, including restorative yoga and Pilates, senior fitness, all-levels yoga and Pilates mat, Dance Fit, and more. Group exercise classes are available with a monthly membership, a 10-pack, or purchased on a drop-in basis. Seniors receive a discounted monthly membership rate.

Silver Age Chair Yoga for Seniors 

Yoga can be practiced by everyone, including seniors who have physical and cognitive limitations. Silver Age Yoga is mostly performed in a chair and helps increase flexibility and mobility and improve balance. Participants gently stretch all body parts such as the neck, hands and legs and perform breathing exercises. FREE classes are offered every Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00-11:00am in the Truckee Senior Center Community Room.

Fitness Forever

This senior program has been inspiring men and women to fitness for over 13 years. Cardio endurance segment features low and non‐impact aerobic dance. Weight lifting segment uses small hand weights and resistance bands to sculpt and tone muscles while building endurance. Combined with balance, flexibility and functional fitness, this is a great class for seniors of all fitness levels!  Fitness Forever classes occur Mondays and Fridays at 10am every week.

Heart to Heart Educational Series

Get the facts to reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and pulmonary disease. Health Coaching

You set the goal, we help you reach it! Program includes an initial consultation with a wellness coach (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Exercise Physiologist or Yoga/Meditation Instructor) and 8 weeks of email or phone check -ins with your coach.

Take Control of your Health!  - Self Management Programs for Chronic Disease (CDSMP), Diabetes (DSMP), and Chronic Pain (CPSMP)

Evidenced-based programs developed by Stanford School of Medicine. FREE six-week series for individuals with a chronic disease and/or their caregivers. Receive support and learn the information and skills to manage chronic conditions on a daily basis to improve health and quality of life.
